We are selling the Speckled Sussex because it is a useful dual-purpose bird. They are a medium-sized heavy breed. Sussex chickens have a deep broad body which makes it excellent for fattening. Their white skin makes them easy to dress.

This variety is called speckled because of the white spangles on the ends of its otherwise dark mahogany-colored feathers. Their color also makes them a great predator resistant bird. The Speckled Sussex has a very beautiful plumage that becomes more speckled every year after their molt.
